Toby Mitchell-Sawyer
Toby Mitchell-Saywer is a 37 year old security officer who is making his first run for public office. He is the Peace and Freedom Party candidate for State Board of Equalization from the 2nd district. Toby is a community activist who serves as a voice of the people in his multi-racial, multi-cultural neighborhood in South Sacramento. People rely on him to be their advisor and voice because he struggles with life just as they do. He is a single parent, living in a community that is making a turnaround. He gathers food and makes sure it gets distributed to those who are having a hard time. When living conditions get bad he takes on the struggle for tenant rights. Toby’s number one issue is jobs. His ultimate goal is to have real equal opportunity for everyone. He wants to represent working people on the Board of Equalization, the state tax board.
The Second District includes all or part of 34 counties, basically the eastern two-thirds of the northern and central parts of the state, and in the south a portion of Los Angeles County and an adjoining piece of San Bernardino County.
