Partisan Number 26
Dina is a former Kaiser Permanente worker whose work-related disability changed her life, both medically and as a result of a shameful coverup and revenge campaign by her former employer. She has turned the situation into a positive development for working people, by campaigning tirelessly for cleanup of the brutally inadequate Workers Compensation system, and against corporate control of the public agencies that are supposed to protect and care for injured workers.
She has demonstrated, testified, and set up websites with information the corporate-owned media will not report.
Campaigning for federal office, Dina Padilla advocates strict federal protections for injured workers, as well as a nationwide "single-payer" health care system, covering everyone including injured workers, similar to medicare but with better coverage for Americans of all ages.
Other issues in her campaign are immediate withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan, doubling the minimum wage, and overhauling the tax system so that the wealthy and their corporations shoulder the tax burden, instead of working people. Details are available at dinapadillaforcongress.com
