March 25, 2011 is the Centennial of the infamous Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, which took the lives of 146 workers, mostly young immigrant women, and galvanized a national social justice movement to protect workers health and safety and helped build unions to defend workers.

In LA, several labor activists, educators and artists have initiated an organizing committee to set up commemorative events. This initial group invites trade unions, labor historians, labor activists, health and safety advocates, immigrant rights organizations, women’s organizations, writers, artists, theater people, filmmakers, and TV workers to join us to collaborate on supporting and building events involving your members and organizations.
