The following statement was issued by C. T. Weber, State Chair of the Peace and Freedom Party on September 16, 2011.
The Peace and Freedom Party of California, the only working class, feminist-socialist party on the ballot in California, joins in solidarity with the international community on this Global Day of Solidarity for Troy Davis in opposing the planned execution of Troy Davis by the State of Georgia on September 21. Our position is clearly stated in our Platform: “Abolish the death penalty.”
We further endorse the statement of Angela Davis, as well as the petitions of other organizations (NAACP, ACLU, Amnesty International, IAC, Change.org, Faithful America, the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty just to mention a few), which oppose the execution.
